Making a booking

In terms of making a booking with Just for Cats Cattery we are referring to all of our services which are: Cattery and all Small Animal Boarding, Pet Sitting and Pet Taxi

All bookings now require a deposit to secure the booking. Normally we accept 50% of the total booking fees in advance. The deposit is not required straight away if your proposed booking is months in advance as long as it is paid approximately two months minimum before the arrival date. If your arrival date is quite soon then we would like your deposit paid when making your booking. We are quite flexible and would like to make sure your booking is secured.

This is payable over the phone preferably using a debit card or please pop in to pay cash.

The deposit is fully refundable on any cancellation of bookings made, less any nominal Debit/Credit card charges. However, if the booking is cancelled within less than a week before your arrival date then the deposit is non- refundable. This excludes the Pet Taxi service, please see below and under cancellations.

However, in view of all the content below we may waiver this condition based on management’s discretion only and in regards to extreme events that are completely out of your and our control as brought upon us by Government policies and new laws. This in view as in the example of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cattery & Small Animal Bookings – All cattery bookings require a 50% deposit, remaining balance paid on the day of arrival

Bookings for Pet Sitting – all bookings require a 50% deposit and the remaining balance to be paid nearer to the day of your holiday departure when you bring in your key

Pet Taxi – all pet taxi bookings require a 50% deposit or paid in full prior to any actual pet taxi date. Any remaining balance must be paid before the day of the pet taxi.

Cancellations

You have every right to make a cancellation to your booking at any time as long as it’s not less than 7 days prior to your actual arrival date and a  refund will be provided less admin charges. Our admin charges for any cancellations are £5.00. If you cancel less than one week before your arrival date then unfortunately your deposit or any other monies is non refundable. However, the management reserve the full discretionary rights as to reduce this partly or waiver the levy completely.

Cattery & Small Animal bookings Cancellations – you can cancel  your booking as long as it’s not less than 7 days prior to your actual arrival date and should this be the case then a total refund of either your 50% deposit or full refund of all monies paid should the complete balance be paid in advance of your booking less the admin charge as above.  If you cancel within the minimum 7 days prior to your arrival date then there will be no refunds of any monies paid back.

Pet Sitting Cancellations – you can cancel your booking for pet Sitting as long as it’s not less than 7 days prior to your actual arrival date and should this be the case then a total refund of either your 50% deposit or full refund of all monies paid should the complete balance be paid in advance of your start date less the admin charge as above. If you cancel within the minimum 7 days prior to your arrival date then there will be no refunds of any monies paid back.

Pet Taxi – you can cancel you booking for pet Pet Taxi as long as it’s not less than 1 day prior to your actual arrival date and should this be the case then a total refund of either your 50% deposit or full refund of all monies paid should the complete balance be paid in advance of your start date less the admin charge as above. If you cancel within 24 hours prior to your Pet Taxi date then there will be no refunds of any monies paid back.

Money Credits

We can, instead of providing you with a refund of monies you have paid to us, give you a credit for a new future booking date as stipulated below.

Cattery & Small Animal Bookings – As long as we are made aware of your cancellation that is outside of the minimum 7 days then we offer you either a full refund of any monies paid or provide you with a credit to transfer your total amount of money paid to a future booking date or we keep the monies for you until you advise us of a new booking date. If we are made aware of your cancellation within 7 days of your arrival date then no monies will be provided for credit and it will be classed as a forfeiture.

Bookings for Pet Sitting – As long as we are made aware of your cancellation outside of the minimum 7 days then we offer you either a full refund of any monies paid or provide you with a credit to transfer your total amount of money to a future booking date or we keep the monies for you until you advise us of a new booking date. If we are made aware of your cancellation within 7 days of your arrival date then no monies will be provided for credit and it will be classed as a forfeiture.

Pet Taxi – a full credit of the amount paid will be transferred to another Pet taxi date if made outside of the 24 hour minimum  period.

Money Credits – kept as a deposit for any of the services above will be valid and kept on account for any future re-bookings up to a maximum of 6 months from the date when the original deposit was paid. However, in the light of the recent Covid pandemic we will extend the valid period to use your deposits on account for up to 12 months from date of payment.

Amendments to your booking

If you need to reduce the boarding period of your existing booking in advance of more than one week of the arrival date of your booking then we will reduce the total boarding fees in accordance to reflect the actual new boarding period. If it’s less than one week then we will have to charge for the full boarding as to the original existing booking made by you. No refunds will be given should you decide to collect your animal early before the booking end date. Again, we reserve the full discretionary rights as to whether we’ll reduce this partly or waiver completely the extra days boarding fees that you do not require. This does not apply to Pet taxi.

Any amendments to a pet Taxi date will be provided as long as its outside the minimum 24 hour period to the Pet Taxi booked date. If you advise us of your amendment less than 24 hours then you will not ne able to amend your booking we reserve the right to keep all monies paid.

Pet Boarding Insurance

During the period of boarding between the arrival and departure dates your animal will be covered by our full pet insurance and is included within the boarding fees. Our insurance will not cover for any pre-existing animal illnesses; we will only cover for illnesses that have arisen as a result of the boarding period.

Within 7 days

Should you animal become ill after you cat leaves our establishment then please notify us within 7 days as we can make a claim under the Animal Expenses Vet Fees as part of our vet insurance. In order to make a claim under this section, the animal must have been taken to a vet within 72 hours of leaving our establishment or at the very least, a telephone call to the vet must have been logged within this timescale.

After 7 Days

If you animal becomes ill after its boarding stay with us and you notify us after 7 days from the date of boarding departure then it becomes a custodial liability. In this case you must provide a complaint in writing explaining your reasons for doing so and the nature of the illness. As soon as we receive this we will forward this onto our insurers who will investigate the allegations to ascertain what actions to take and will liaise with you, the customer, directly.

Pet Sitting Service

To book our pet sitting service we require full payment in advance of the start date either by cash or debit/credit card. If you would like us to make an initial visit to your home to arrange this service there will be an initial visit charge, at management discretion, to cover expenses and will be added onto your final bill. Our charges are based on a per visit basis and included all labour and fuel costs.

If after an initial visit you prefer to pay by debit/credit card then we will ring you after the initial visit to arrange the payment over the phone. Or you can visit our facilities to make arrangements and make payment there and then.

You will need to complete our online submission form to obtain information about you and your pets and to receive your house key. As we are fully police vetted you are very welcome to request the presence of our CBR form and view our special insurance papers for Pet Sitting/dog walking.

Payment

We only accept cash or Debit/Credit Cards as payment. If you have paid a deposit for your booking then we would prefer the remaining balance paid on your day of arrival.

Boarding Fees

Boarding fees are charged from the date of arrival to the date of departure. Your boarding fees due will be for the full period booked with no reductions made if you collect your animal[s] early.

Boarding Contract

All customers are requested to complete and sign our boarding contract and make reference to the “Conditions of Acceptance”, which is displayed in our reception. As part of the boarding process you will be required to complete an online submission form for Customer Records giving us information about you and your pets.

Medical Conditions

An animal with a known pre-existing must be declared to us of medical conditions or receiving medication will be accepted for boarding on the understanding that any future vet fees incurred during the boarding period will be met, in full, by the owner of the Animal. A Pet Taxi charge may have to be added if we are needed to take your animal to the vets concerning this medical condition. Please refer to our Pet Taxi page for Pet Taxi rates.

Vaccinations

Your cat must be fully inoculated against Feline Enteritis and cat flu and the vets certificate must be shown as proof upon arrival. Again we must see your certificate 12 months later when your cat has been for their annual injections for further bookings. Or preferably, bring your vaccinations records in everytime your animal boards with us as routine

Emergency

In case of an emergency we require an emergency contact name and telephone so that we can make a courtesy call should your animal fall ill. We prefer to make contact with your designated contact so as to not upset your holiday should your animal develop an illness. We will arrange with your designated emergency contact to attend to your animal’s wellbeing issue. Or we can make contact with you direct if you prefer.

If we discover that your animal has fallen ill as a result from the experience of the boarding period then we will take to your vets at our cost. All costs incurred due to pre-existing health conditions as noted on our records or by the vets will be met by the owner. On this occasion and we are required to Pet Taxi your animal to your vet then our Pet Taxi charges will apply – our rates for Pet taxi Page – Tariffs. Or you may prefer, if convenient, to use your own emergency contact to do the pet Transportation to a vet.

Vets

Should your animal go ill for any reason then we will use our vets or your preferred vet as stated on the Customer record card.

Pet Taxi

To hire our service for Pet Taxi all written communications via email will be binding for both parties namely, Just for Cats Cattery and you the customer. For long distance Pet Taxi outside of Peterborough an agreed price set between ourselves must be paid for in advance using our card payment machine.

All local Pet Taxi movements can either be paid in advance if the set time for Pet Taxi is known thus setting the correct price and be paid over phone using our card machine. Or, if the Pet Taxi time is not known then payment will be made after the Pet Taxi has taken place. This will fall in line with our Pet Taxi tariffs and payments to paid in cash at the end point of the journey or by card machine once the Pet Taxi driver arrives back at Just for Cats Cattery.
